Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Congratualtion to our cricket team who had a convincing win over Mulyan PS last Thursday. Everyone played exceptionally well, including Jack Nash who claimed 5 wickets and was awarded the match ball for his efforts. The next game will be against an Orange school at the end of the term. A huge thank you to all the parents who transported students and to Miss Toovey for preparing the team on and off the field.
Our Western swimming athletes competed in Dubbo yesterday. All swam very well and there were lots of PBs. Our students also managed to buy their Western region paraphernalia. Thank you to all the parents for driving their children and others to Dubbo and supporting our students at the carnival.
Favourtie T-Shirt Day is this Friday. We are looking forward to seeing what everyone has in their cupboards, no need to go out and buy a new T-shirt, the older the better! Please ensure that they are sun smart (no singlet) and that there are no inappropriate messages or pictures on the T-shirts.
The P&C Disco is next Thursday night. Please pre order tickets and meal deal before the night. There will also be lollies - $1 a bag and ice blocks - 50c for sale, students are encouraged to bring some coins. Please make sure they have pockets or a wallet to keep their money safe. All parents are invited to attend as well to mingle outside on the grassed area while the students dance inside.
Have a great week!
Regards,
Sharon Hawker

PSSA Knock Out Cricket
Canowindra V. Mulyan
Last Thursday, our school's cricket team, consisting of 12 boys and 1 girl spanning from Year 3 to 6, travelled to Cowra for a match against Mulyan Public School. Unfortunately, we lost the toss and were asked to bat first.
Despite this, we put up a good fight during our batting innings, completing our 25 overs with a total score of 5/127. Standout performances came from Sam Markcrow, who scored 31 runs, and Jack Daly, who contributed 19 runs.
Following a swift change of innings, it was our turn to take to the field. Our bowling unit put on a stellar display, dismissing Mulyan for a mere 13 runs. The wickets fell through a combination of bowled, run-out, and even a leg before wicket dismissal. Notably, Lachlan Nash had an outstanding performance, claiming 5 wickets for just 4 runs.
The team's cohesion and teamwork were evident throughout the match, with each player playing their part in securing the victory. We're thrilled with our performance and are eager to continue training hard as we prepare for our upcoming match in the following weeks.
Kitchen Garden Working Bee
It was all hands on deck last week as 5/6 helped Mrs Wright get our kitchen garden ship shape. Plants were pruned, scrap buckets scrubbed, chooks sheds cleaned our and new self feeders for our chickens built. Well Done 5/6 a morning well spent in the garden

Attendance Matters
Must have missed that day?
Time with friends, assignments, an important math lesson or getting picked for a sports team – we don’t want any one of our students missing out. Days missed here and there add up.
With regular school attendance your child will have the best opportunity to learn and improve their wellbeing. We are here to support your child to be ready and engaged for school. Please contact us if you need any assistance with your child’s attendance.
Visit the Every Day Matters webpage for more information and resources.
A reminder that planned travel should only be taken during school holidays and students should be at school every day during school term, right from beginning to end.
Missing a day here or there may not seem like much, but absences add up. Every day matters and we are here to support all students in attending and engaging with their learning every day of the term.
