Week 9 Term 3 Newsletter 2024
Principal's Message
Year 4 had a wonderful trip to the Blue Mountains last week. They were very lucky with the weather and were able to experience all the sights and sounds of the World Heritage list area. We really are very lucky to be so close to this region and enjoy all that it has to offer. A huge thank you to Ms Laurie, Miss Benjafield and Mrs Slattery for taking the students on the excursion and giving up their personal time to do this. Teachers are not paid to go on overnight excursions, and our staff do it for the love of education and it is always a very rewarding experience.
I also had the pleasure of attending the Boys to the Bush Engagement Day in Forbes last week. I received some great feedback from the event organisers stating that the energy and eagerness of the students to participate was truly inspiring. They brought a vibrant spirit to the event, and their involvement helped create an atmosphere of excitement and all the BttB staff loved seeing the smiles on the students’ faces. Comments such as “this is the best day”, really made it all worthwhile for everyone.
Infants embarked on their annual excursion yesterday as they went to Cowra to see Little Red in the Hood performance at the Civic Centre. From all accounts the play was great and it’s pleasing to see Cowra Civic Centre enticing quality performances to their stage. I also think the adventure playground was a big hit too!
Next week it is all about the concert. Monday we are “bumping in” with all classes coming together to present their theatrical pieces. This will give us an indication of how long the performance will go for. Wednesday we will be having our dress rehearsal, therefore students will need to bring requested clothing etc. to school that day. Then Thursday will be the final performances.
We have two wonderful performances planned for next Thursday 26th September including a matinee at 12pm and an evening performance at 6pm. The matinee will be primarily for other schools and any family members that can’t make the evening performance. This year there will be no allocated seating with no limits to immediate family members. Therefore, the hall will be open at the back and there will be seating and standing room outside. I would also like to ask that only immediate family members attend the evening performance and if extended family members such as grandparents etc. could attend our matinee, that would be greatly appreciated.
All students are required to be dropped at school at 5:30pm sharp on Thursday afternoon for the 6pm performance. Students are encouraged to have an early dinner or bring some snacks, as they will be in their classrooms during the performance. Gold coin donations will be greatly received at level 3 gates to cover costume costs and other incidentals occurred. We anticipate that the concert will conclude at about 7pm.
Good luck to our 23 Western Region representatives who are competing in Dubbo on Friday. We wish you all very well and look forward to hearing all about your PBs.
Week 10 is our last week of school for the term. Term 4 will commence on Monday 14th October.
Have a great week!
Kind regards

On Tuesday the 17th of September we went to Cowra. Infants all travelled on a large coach and on a mini bus. Our class was on the mini bus. When we got to Cowra we had recess. After this we went into the Cowra Civic Centre to was Little Red in the Hood. It was not like the normal story of Little Red Riding Hood. There was a girl called Roxy and there was a big chicken. The wolf wanted the chocolate cake that Granny made. It was really funny. We got to sing and dance a lot which was fun.
When the show had finished we went to the adventure playground in Cowra to have lunch. When he had lunch we got to go on the climbing equipment, the mouse wheel and the swings. Everybody was crazy on the mouse wheel. We had so much fun!
