Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,
The Year 6 Monster Marathon is underway. This day is a rite of passage for our Year 6 students and one that they look forward to every year. The money raised goes towards a parting gift from the students to the school. I’m sure there will be a few tired bodies after today, however, there will be lots of nice memories to share.
Class of 2025 begins their official orientation program tomorrow. We are looking forward to seeing the next cohort of students arrive. This program goes for the next 4 weeks and it’s not too late to enroll if you haven’t already done so. We can’t wait to see all their smiling faces!
Our Fete is fast approaching. Teachers have been requesting donations from their classes. Thank you to all the parents who have contributed to their child's stall. The students thoroughly enjoy organising and participating in this day. The weather is looking great, gates open at 12:30pm. Ticket sales are running hot and can be purchased online up until Thursday, after this time all tickets can be purchased from the school office. These will be delivered to students on Friday before the Fete.
Thanks to everyone who dressed up in red last week to raise money for ‘Day for Daniel’. Your support was very much appreciated and $172 was sent to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. Thanks to Mrs. Chalker/ nee Pritchard for organising this event.
Have a great week!
Kind regards
Sharon Hawker

Health News

A friendly reminder to all parents/ carers to keep your children home from school if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms: temperature, fever, rash, excessive coughing, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. These are all indicators that your child is unwell and can be contagious which will spread a bacteria or virus to other students and teachers. Thank you for your understanding.

Our Learner Qualities

CPS students are learning to be creative when learning!
The Resilience Project - Gratitude

This week’s presentation from The Resilience Project focuses on Gratitude.
Gratitude is paying attention to the things that we have right now, and not worrying about what we don’t have. We practise this by noticing the positives that exist around us.
Research shows that practicing gratitude rewires our brains to overcome the negativity bias (which can lead to anxiety and depression) and see the world for what we are thankful for. It is also shown to broaden thinking and increase physical health through improved sleep and attitude to exercise.

There are many ways in which you can practise gratitude, including starting a gratitude journal. You can simply use a notebook to list three things that went well for you each day, or use a more comprehensive Wellbeing Journal, like those created by The Resilience Project.
