Principal's Message

Dear Families,
Thank you to everyone who attended our face-to-face session and participated in the online webinar on Digital Wellbeing for Families. We appreciate your engagement, and we’re delighted to hear the positive feedback regarding the informative session. For those who were unable to join us, a recording will be shared with all families shortly. We also extend our gratitude to our P&C for funding this session, and we look forward to hosting another one later this year.
I am thrilled to announce that we will be welcoming UpStage back this year! For those unfamiliar, UpStage is a talented group of professional actors, dancers, and singers who tour regional areas. We had the privilege of participating last year as part of the Orange network of schools, and we are excited to be included in their tour again this year. This enriching experience will be offered free of charge to all our K-6 students, funded by a Wellbeing grant for 2024. Please keep an eye out for the permission slip via Sentral.
Three Way Interviews are in their final stages of booking. We invite you to visit the Parent Portal to secure your timeslot. These interviews will take place from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM over two afternoons: Primary classes on Tuesday, March 25th, and Infants on Wednesday, March 26th. We look forward to connecting with all parents, except for our Kindergarten families, with whom we met a few weeks ago. Thank you for your attendance during those meetings; it was wonderful to connect with you one-on-one.
A friendly reminder that MSP School Photos will be taking place in Week 11, on Tuesday, April 8th. Photo envelopes have been sent home and need to be returned before school photo day. Please note that while these photos are not compulsory, every child will have their photo taken, regardless of payment. If you would like to arrange family photos, please see the office for more information.
As we wrap up NAPLAN, I want to thank everyone for ensuring their child was prepared for the tests, particularly Mrs. Pengilly for coordinating the testing program alongside Ms. Toovey and our dedicated classroom teachers. The numeracy test was held yesterday, and catch-up sessions will take place today.
Lastly, a reminder that the Peachy/Richardson Shield/Girls’ League Tag event will be held next Thursday, March 27th, in Cowra. All students will be travelling by bus with Mrs Howard and Miss Dixon. Please ensure that you have submitted your permission via Sentral and completed the bus payment. Best of luck to everyone; it promises to be a fun day!
Wishing you all a fantastic week ahead!
regards,
Sharon Hawker

Our Learner Qualities

Our 5 learner qualities
We are proud to reintroduce our Visible Learning qualities, which are essential traits that empower our students to thrive both academically and personally. These qualities include:
I Am Resilient: Our students learn to bounce back from setbacks and challenges, developing persistence and determination in their pursuit of success.
I Am Creative: We encourage creativity by inspiring students to think outside the box and approach problems with innovative solutions.
I Seek Feedback: Our students understand the value of constructive feedback as a tool for growth, actively seeking input to improve their learning and performance.
I Embrace Challenge: We foster a growth mindset, encouraging students to take on challenges and view them as opportunities for learning and development.
I Am Self-motivated: Our students take ownership of their learning, setting personal goals and striving to achieve them with enthusiasm and commitment.
These Visible Learning qualities are integral to our educational approach, helping students become confident, capable learners who are prepared for future success. Together, we will cultivate these qualities to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Personal and Social Capability, and Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships topics 1-6.
● For Primary students, additional curriculum areas are integrated across various lessons, including Creative Arts, English, Maths and Science, to ensure learning time is maximised and wellbeing education can be learnt in a variety of contexts.
