Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,
I’m pleased to share that the weather forecast looks fine and sunny for our Open Day today! The Level 1 gates (Belmore and Tilga Street) will open at 12:00 PM, welcoming parents, carers, relatives, and significant others to explore our open classrooms. We encourage you to come and see the wonderful work our students have accomplished throughout the year. Following the classroom visits, we invite you to join us for a free sausage sizzle at 12:40 PM in our fabulous playground.
Last Friday, I had the pleasure of hosting Ms. Laurie’s Year 3/4 class for lunch, and we enjoyed a delightful spread from the Canowindra High School canteen. It was great to see everyone enjoying their meal. Congratulations to the Year 3/4 class on their PBL reward!
I would also like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Jack Daly, who is representing our school with the Western Rugby Union team at the PSSA state carnival in Newcastle. From all accounts, they are having an excellent time and enjoying the competition against teams from across the state.
Looking ahead, next week we have our Infants excursion to the Cowra Civic Centre to watch a performance called 'Imagine'. Additionally, the District Athletics event will take place in Cowra next Friday, August 15th. We are excited to have 39 students attending, and we wish them all the best in their events. Please ensure that permission and payment have been submitted by the end of this week.
I look forward to seeing you all today, and I wish you a fantastic week ahead!
Warm regards,
Sharon Hawker
Principal

Jack Daly Yr 6 at NSW PSSA Rugby Union Championships representing Western NSW. Well done Jack!

OOSH OPERATING MORNING AND AFTERNOON

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) on School Students with Disability Notification for Parents and Carers
In August, all Government and non-Government schools across Australia are required to participate annually in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD).
All Australian schools will collect data on their students who are receiving adjustments to meet additional learning and support needs in accordance with their obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and Disability Standards for Education 2005. This data will be provided to the Australian Government to assist in the development of a consistent, national picture of the education needs of students with disability.
The data provided to the Australian Government by the NSW Department of Education and Communities is provided in such a way that it cannot be used to identify any individual student or school.General information about the national data collection can be found on the following website at https://www.nccd.edu.au/
If you have any questions about the data collection, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Pengilly.

Our Learner Qualities

We are proud to reintroduce our Visible Learning qualities, which are essential traits that empower our students to thrive both academically and personally. These qualities include:
I Am Resilient: Our students learn to bounce back from setbacks and challenges, developing persistence and determination in their pursuit of success.
I Am Creative: We encourage creativity by inspiring students to think outside the box and approach problems with innovative solutions.
I Seek Feedback: Our students understand the value of constructive feedback as a tool for growth, actively seeking input to improve their learning and performance.
I Embrace Challenge: We foster a growth mindset, encouraging students to take on challenges and view them as opportunities for learning and development.
I Am Self-motivated: Our students take ownership of their learning, setting personal goals and striving to achieve them with enthusiasm and commitment.
These Visible Learning qualities are integral to our educational approach, helping students become confident, capable learners who are prepared for future success. Together, we will cultivate these qualities to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
