Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for making our Education Week another memorable experience! It was wonderful to see so many parents, carers, grandparents, and other family members attend our Open Day. Every class I visited was buzzing with excitement, and the students truly enjoyed showcasing the work they have been doing. It was heartening to see the progress and improvement reflected in their books. I hope everyone enjoyed their sausage sandwich; a special thank you to our dedicated General Assistant, Mr. Greg Wright, for cooking the BBQ, along with the fantastic team of helpers who rallied together to make it a success. It was lovely to see families enjoying lunch together.
I am also pleased to report that Starr's Planetarium was exceptionally well received by both students and staff. It was a fantastic addition to Education Week and served as a wonderful way to celebrate Science Week. Be sure to check out the photos in this week's newsletter to see the excitement!
Our Infants are eagerly looking forward to their excursion to Cowra this Thursday to see the wonderful adaptation of Alison Lester’s book, ‘Imagine’. Many schools will be attending this performance at the Cowra Civic Centre, and afterwards, our students will have the opportunity to explore the adventure playground in Cowra.
On Friday, we will have our District Athletics Carnival taking place in Cowra, where 38 of our students will represent our school in various events. I am confident that there will be plenty of personal bests and fun for everyone involved. Miss Dixon and Mrs. Matic will be supervising our students throughout the day.
Next week marks Book Week, culminating in our biannual Book Parade on Tuesday, August 19th at 2 PM in the hall. This year’s theme is “When I Grow Up,” and students are encouraged to dress up as someone they aspire to be. It’s always a delightful day, and we warmly invite parents, carers, and grandparents to join us. Please remember, there are no prizes for the best dressed, and we want to keep this experience enjoyable and stress-free for families. We encourage creativity and resourcefulness, so feel free to gather items from home instead of incurring any expenses. If any families are facing challenges, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher, who will be happy to assist.
The following day will also feature a dress-up event, but this one is designed to be low-key. We will be dressing in pyjamas to raise funds for Stewart House. Students are encouraged to bring in a gold coin donation to participate.
I look forward to seeing everyone at assembly this Friday at 2PM.
Wshing you all a wonderful week ahead!
Kind regards,
Sharon Hawker
Principal

To ensure the success and viability of this program, we need your support. We are currently seeking more children to enrol. A robust participation will not only enhance the program's offerings but also create a vibrant community where students can connect, learn, and have fun together.
If you are interested in enrolling your child or would like more information about the OOSH program, please use QR Code to register. Your involvement is crucial in making this program a valuable addition to our school community.

Attendance Matters

We know that it can sometimes be challenging getting your child to school, especially if they are experiencing anxiety or refusing to attend school.
They might be worried about their schoolwork, their friendship circles, playing sports or being away from their family. If you are concerned about your child's attendance at school or any other issues that may affect their attendance, please reach out to your child’s teachers.
We are here to support you and your child to make sure they are ready and engaged at school.
You can also access resources on the department website to support positive conversations with your child about attending school.
Our Learner Qualities

We are proud to reintroduce our Visible Learning qualities, which are essential traits that empower our students to thrive both academically and personally. These qualities include:
I Am Resilient: Our students learn to bounce back from setbacks and challenges, developing persistence and determination in their pursuit of success.
I Am Creative: We encourage creativity by inspiring students to think outside the box and approach problems with innovative solutions.
I Seek Feedback: Our students understand the value of constructive feedback as a tool for growth, actively seeking input to improve their learning and performance.
I Embrace Challenge: We foster a growth mindset, encouraging students to take on challenges and view them as opportunities for learning and development.
I Am Self-motivated: Our students take ownership of their learning, setting personal goals and striving to achieve them with enthusiasm and commitment.
These Visible Learning qualities are integral to our educational approach, helping students become confident, capable learners who are prepared for future success. Together, we will cultivate these qualities to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
