Week 1 Term 3 Newsletter 2022
Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had a very settled start to Term 3. It was great to see all students and staff get straight back into routine with smiles on their faces, it was also great to see so many students back at school, we were hit pretty hard with illness throughout last term. Let’s hope we are through the worst of it!
I’m pleased to welcome back Mrs Miller and Mrs Howard to Year 4/5 and Miss O’Shea and Miss Groves who will be replacing Ms Clements whilst she is on leave this term. I would also like to officially welcome Mrs Matic to our school as a permanent classroom teacher.
As we are all aware, Covid and Influenza are still “floating” around in our community and we are all obliged to do the right thing in order to stop the spread. Please see updated information in the newsletter.
Education Week is in Week 3. We have a few busy weeks of activities planned. First up, on Monday August 1, Years 3-6 will be watching a Tony Bones performance in the hall about the CBCA shortlisted book The Imaginer. Permission notes will be sent out today via the Sentral Parents app. We are moving to electronic notes and everyone should have downloaded this to make 3 Way interviews last term. If you haven’t downloaded the app, please see further information in the newsletter, in order to access permission notes from now on.
Our Open Day/ colour Fun Run will be on Tuesday 9th August at 12 pm. Parents, relatives, neighbours are all encouraged to come and see our wonderful classrooms and the work the students have done throughout the year. This will be followed by a free sausage sizzle at 1pm, where visitors can join us for lunch. Then the P&C Colour Fun Run will start at 2 pm. Students can change into their white shirts at lunch. Let’s hope the weather gods are kind to us, bring on the sunshine!
Kinderbounce - transition program for 5 year olds, will begin on Monday 1st August for 4 weeks. Information re. this special transition program has gone out to all prospective families via Pre School and other outlets. Please see information in the newsletter.
Finally, don’t forget Stage 3 interviews will be conducted tomorrow, Thursday 21st July in the hall, in lieu of last term. We look forward to seeing everyone, light refreshments will be available.
Have a great week!
Kind regards
Sharon Hawker

Parents need to be aware that our school operates under strict guidelines from the NSW government concerning the attendance of students. A child must attend school every day of a scheduled school year. It is a parent’s responsibility to ensure that this happens, and it is the school’s responsibility to keep accurate records of attendance. The school is not permitted to approve leave for any reason other than illness, exceptional family circumstances or occasional absence for elite sporting or cultural participation. This may seem severe, but all schools must adhere to these guidelines. Most leave, other than sick will be designated as “explained but unjustified”. Please call the school or send a note in within 3 days of absence.
