Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
What an amazing fete! Congratulations to all everyone involved. It was great to see so many people having so much fun, particularly after being put on hold for two years! A huge thank you to our P&C and all the parent helpers in the canteen and for organising the SES, Police, Fire Brigade and Age of Fishes Museum. Thank you also, to everyone who donated prizes to our classes and to all our wonderful students and staff for making the day such a memorable one. Mrs Swords and I really enjoyed being slimed too! Final tally of money raised will be presented at the P&C meeting next Monday.
I’d like to welcome Hayley Amos who is a prac student from Cowra/ Canberra University. Hayley is on 1/2B for the next few weeks. Hayley had a false start last week due to the floods, but she’s back “on deck” this week. I’m sure everyone will make her feel very welcome.
A reminder to all Year 6 parents, to register medical information on the Sport and Rec. website for Burrendong. This excursion is fast approaching, and these details need to be provided well in advance of our school attending. Please compete before ethe end of the week, details can be found on the Sentral app.
Year 3 are heading off to Parkes on Friday. Thank you to everyone who has given permission on the app. The are still a few people yet to pay, please make sure this is done before Friday. If you are having difficulty, please let the office know. The bus will be leaving at 9am sharp and returning at 3pm. Please make sure the students have recess, lunch, water bottle and a hat.
Primary sport will be starting this Friday, just in time for the warmer weather. There are still 50 students who have not been given permission via the Sentral app. If we don’t receive permission, they will not be able to go down to the pool. The cost is $3 per student, to be paid to the classroom teacher in the morning, unless they have a season pass. Don’t forget swimming gear!
Have a great week!
Kind regards
Sharon Hawker

Musica Viva
On Thursday the 3rd of November Musica Viva came to entertain CPS infants and St Edwards students. The performers were Torres Strait Islander people and through dance and music they taught us about their culture. It was amazing!

End of Year Staff Development Day Information
Students will now finish school on Thursday 15 December 2022.
This is due to an additional School Development Day announced for staff across NSW public schools. While many other schools will hold their last student day on Friday 16 December, CPS will have a different arrangement due to our students attending school on Monday 26th April 2022 in lieu of the state wide School Development Day in Term 2.
School Development Days allow our staff to participate in professional learning that was put on hold due to COVID-19 staffing pressures and to plan ahead for 2023 to ensure we meet the needs of our students.
With this change, we ask that you arrange alternative care for your child on Friday 16 December.
You can find local vacation care services for your child via the Before and After Care School Finder https://finder.service.nsw.gov.au/.
While there will be no classes on Friday 16 December.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school.
