Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
My thoughts go out to everyone who has been impacted by the devastating floods in our area, including homes, farms, businesses and particularly the Eugowra community. Thanks goes out to the emergency services staff and volunteers who have been ready to support those in need with rescue and recovery efforts.
Words can’t describe how everyone is feeling about this catastrophic weather event which occurred on Monday morning. I’m still cut off from Canowindra, as are lots of staff and families, we’re all feeling quite helpless and we don’t know where to begin to help. Hopefully we’ll be all back together and the recovery can begin very soon. If any of our families need any support, please contact the Disaster Welfare Holtine 0427 401 276.
Due to the recent weather events, several school activities have been cancelled for the rest of the week, these include Stage 3 Woodbridge Cup in Cowra and Primary swimming, due to pool closures. Assembly will still go ahead on Friday with students and staff who can attend.
Our school concert which was planned for next week will continue as a modified version. Due to the current conditions of the roads, we will not be expecting parents to drive students back to school after hours. Therefore, there will be one matinee performance on Thursday 24th November at 12pm. Staff are ensuring it is stress free as possible for students, staff and parents. We’re hoping it will provide some much needed fun for everyone involved.
Tell Them From Me survey closes this Friday, if you haven’t completed it, please find the time if you can, click on the link below to complete.
Finally, a huge thank you to all my staff who have been on the ground in Canowindra this week whilst the other half have been stuck at home. They have done an amazing job of helping everyone out and disseminating information to me and others. At this point in time, the John Grant Bridge and Cherrytree Falls Bridge is still closed and I will inform everyone as soon it reopens. Until this happens, school will be operating with minimal supervision.
Stay safe!
Kind regards
Sharon Hawker

End of Year Staff Development Day Information
Students will now finish school on Thursday 15 December 2022.
This is due to an additional School Development Day announced for staff across NSW public schools. While many other schools will hold their last student day on Friday 16 December, CPS will have a different arrangement due to our students attending school on Monday 26th April 2022 in lieu of the state wide School Development Day in Term 2.
School Development Days allow our staff to participate in professional learning that was put on hold due to COVID-19 staffing pressures and to plan ahead for 2023 to ensure we meet the needs of our students.
With this change, we ask that you arrange alternative care for your child on Friday 16 December.
You can find local vacation care services for your child via the Before and After Care School Finder https://finder.service.nsw.gov.au/.
While there will be no classes on Friday 16 December.
