Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Wow! What a great concert we had last Thursday. The students were the stars of the show, it was great to see so many children having a great time on stage. A special thank you to all the teachers for getting their classes organised and for Mrs McLaughlan for pulling it all together with the help of our captains Charlotte and Campbell. Thank you to our wonderful audiences for your generosity towards the Canowindra and Eugowra flood appeals. We raised $690 and split the funds evenly so both communities received the funds. All the proceeds will go directly to the people that were impacted and we hope this helps everyone in need. Another huge thank you to Mrs Pengilly and her own children for dropping off insect repellent to affected families along the river on their way home each afternoon. These have been supplied by the DoE to give to give to staff and students of flood affected areas.
Swim School has coincided with some lovely warm weather. The students are enjoying their lessons with Mel and her team. Don’t forget swimming gear and money!
Year 6 Burrendong Excursion is fast approaching (1 week to go), thank you to everyone who has registered and given permission. Currently only 10 students have paid. It would be beneficial if money could be collated by the end of the week as we need to know if it is going to be viable or not.
The P&C Christmas Party is on next Monday night 5th December, 6:30pm at the Blue Jacket Motel. All parents/ carers are welcome to attend, see invitation in the newsletter. Should be a great night, looking forward to seeing you all there!
We are in the process of organising classes for next year and as you can appreciate this is done with utmost consideration for students’ learning. If you have any special requests, please see your class teacher by the end of the week. It is far easier to accommodate changes at the end of the year than at the beginning of next year.
Our Whole School Presentation Day will be held on Tuesday 13th Dec at 9:30am. We don’t need to split Infants and Primary this year and everyone is invited to attend.
Last but certainly not least, I’d like to announce that Mrs McLaughlan will be taking leave in 2023, with the vision to retire and spend more time with her devoted husband, children and grandchildren. Mrs McLaughlan has been one of our school’s longest standing staff members and she will be sorely missed. Please join us in saying farewell at our Presentation Day.
Kind regards
Sharon Hawker

End of Year Staff Development Day Information
Students will now finish school on Thursday 15 December 2022.
This is due to an additional School Development Day announced for staff across NSW public schools. While many other schools will hold their last student day on Friday 16 December, CPS will have a different arrangement due to our students attending school on Monday 26th April 2022 in lieu of the state wide School Development Day in Term 2.
School Development Days allow our staff to participate in professional learning that was put on hold due to COVID-19 staffing pressures and to plan ahead for 2023 to ensure we meet the needs of our students.
With this change, we ask that you arrange alternative care for your child on Friday 16 December.
You can find local vacation care services for your child via the Before and After Care School Finder https://finder.service.nsw.gov.au/.
While there will be no classes on Friday 16 December.
