Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Principal’s message
Last week, we were informed of the good news, Miss Toovey has welcomed the arrival of another little girl. Ellie May was born last Thursday and mum and bub are doing very well. We wish Lauren, Jacob and Charlotte lots of sleep, cuddles and joy during this precious time together.
I’m pleased to announce that our Paver Path on Level 3 has commenced. I’m hoping it will be completed by next week’s Presentation Day, however, works have slowed down a little this week.
Year 6 have headed off on their final excursion to Burrendong Sport and Recreation Camp today. The students will have a wonderful time. The dam is full, the weather is going to be perfect and the company even better. We look forward to hearing all about it when they get back. Year 6 laptops will be ready to be taken home from next Monday, accounts will need to be paid in full before collection.
A huge thank you to all our parents who completed that Tell Them From Me survey, we had 47 responses which is a third of our parent body. Results from this survey will be available early next year and I will share them with our school community, the results will determine future directions for our school plan in 2023.
Last week I announced that Mrs McLaughlan will be taking long service leave next year with the vision to retire. I’m pleased to announce that Miss Georgie Pritchard from Bletchington PS will be relieving Primary AP and Stage 3 teacher. Georgie is relocating to the Canowindra/ Gooloogong area and will be a great asset to our school. I still have one classroom teacher vacancy for 2023. If anybody knows of someone who is interested in a full time position, please get them to contact me.
Please be advised that next Wednesday 14th December is class party days. Students can wear Xmas Sun Safe Mufti (no sleeveless shirts or thongs). The last day of school is Thursday 15th December. This will be a clean-up day, followed by a staff development day on Friday 16th & 19th December. School resumes for Year 1-6 on Tuesday 31st February 2023. Please see Upcoming Events in our newsletter for all end of year activities and dates.
Thanks to the P&C for organising dinner at the Blue Jacket Motel on Monday night, it was lovely to catch up with everyone! Thanks to all our praents for your support through the P&C this year.
Finally, a huge thank you to Mrs Pengilly and her children Claire and Mack, for taking the long road home every afternoon delivering insect repellent to our community in need. I have received many messages and phone calls from appreciative community members, such a simple gesture has made a difference. We are thinking of everyone who has been affected, it’s going to be a long road to recovery and this is the least we can do.
Have a great week!
Sharon Hawker

End of Year Staff Development Day Information
Students will now finish school on Thursday 15 December 2022.
This is due to an additional School Development Day announced for staff across NSW public schools. While many other schools will hold their last student day on Friday 16 December, CPS will have a different arrangement due to our students attending school on Monday 26th April 2022 in lieu of the state wide School Development Day in Term 2.
School Development Days allow our staff to participate in professional learning that was put on hold due to COVID-19 staffing pressures and to plan ahead for 2023 to ensure we meet the needs of our students.
With this change, we ask that you arrange alternative care for your child on Friday 16 December.
You can find local vacation care services for your child via the Before and After Care School Finder https://finder.service.nsw.gov.au/.
While there will be no classes on Friday 16 December.
