Week 2 Term 1 Newsletter 2023
Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to all our wonderful families and a special welcome to our new families who are joining Canowindra Public School, we look forward to getting to know you and your children. Please ensure you read our newsletter which is sent out via email each week and can be found on our school website. If you don’t have email or internet access, please let the office know and your eldest child can collect a hard copy from the office each week.
Years 1-6 started yesterday and it was great to see everyone’s smiling faces. A lot of time and effort has gone into placing students into their classes. Kindergarten is the only year group where some changes might be made within the first four weeks. Kindergarten will start their adventure into “big school” tomorrow. Many of you will be aware of the tragic passing of little Imogen Lennon. We are all completely devasted that we won’t be seeing her smiling face tomorrow. We have a teddy which we have called Imogen and we know that she will be part of the class and in our hearts forever.
Staffing for 2023
Once again we are very lucky to have wonderful teachers at our school and 2023 is no exception. We warmly welcome Miss Georgie Pritchard, Miss Charlotte Groves, Miss Phoebe Chadwick and Ms Jade O’Malley who are all new to our school this year. Charlotte and Phoebe have worked casually over the past year or so, but we welcome them as full-time teachers this year. Georgie comes from Bletchington PS in Orange and Jade returns to the classroom after being on maternity leave from a school in Cowra. We also welcome Mrs Miller and Mrs Howard to the relieving role of AP C&I (Curriculum and Instruction) whilst Ms Toovey is on maternity leave.
Our classes for 2023 are listed below. Please remember the class teacher is the first “port of call” to discuss any issues you may have as they are with your child every day and know them very well. Teachers will be sending home a class newsletter later in the week and they will be meeting all parents via 3 Way Interviews which includes teachers, students and parents later in the term.
