Relieving Principal's Message
Welcome back to Term 4! It was great to see everyone arrive at school on Monday morning keen to catch up with their friends and chat about their break. We hope everyone had a relaxing break and have re-energised ready for the term ahead.
There is always a lot to look forward to in Term 4. It is a busy term, with many additional activities and events but our focus on teaching and learning remains consistent. Please keep a look out for information in the weekly newsletter and notifications in the Sentral Parent Portal regarding these events. Parent permission is required for many school events and needs to be obtained through the parent portal, so make sure you have the notifications turned on on your phone and you complete the required information prior to the deadline to ensure students can attend.
Art Exhibition coming soon!
Don’t forget everyone is invited to attend the Canowindra Public School P&C 2023 fundraising event ‘Look at Me!’ being held over the weekend of Friday 20th - Sunday 22nd October. Every student in the school has created artwork which will be for sale at the exhibition. The P&C are raising funds for a cultural and creative experience for all the students which will involve workshops and mural at the school inspired by the students, at the same time, the exhibition inspires children to use their imaginations and participate in an event that engages with our local community. Opening night tickets are only $10 per adult and includes welcome nibbles and beverage plus 1 ticket to our fundraising raffle. Verto in Cowra has generously donated an amazing selection of electronic goods valued at $750 and photographer Sugarloaf Studio has donated a $250 package to the raffle. We hope everyone can join us at the event and we look forward to your support. Bring your families and friends!
Tell Them From Me Survey
This term, our school is taking part in the Tell Them From Me Parent/Carer Survey. This survey will provide the school with valuable feedback on what our community think about school life, how engaged your child is at school and different ideas parents have about school. Your responses are extremely welcomed and will be a valuable component of our situational analysis. In previous years, parents and carers have supported this survey and provided helpful responses and suggestions used to plan future directions of the school. Participation in this survey is entirely voluntary and we appreciate your responses. Please follow this link to complete the survey: http://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/can
Red Day
TOMORROW! Students are invited to participate in a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House by wearing red and making a gold coin donation. Students will need to be sunsafe and wear enclosed, sensible footwear on the day. Ronald McDonald House is a wonderful charity, supporting many local families during difficult times. Our SRC look forward to your support of this fundraiser.
Have a great week!

Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) still requires staff to begin operating at Canowindra Public School. Please find the link below and share it with people who you may think might be interested in applying for the position.

Attendance - Every day matters
We know that school is the best place to learn. By attending school every day your child will get the most out of their learning and improve their career and life options.
When your child is absent it is important you let the school know, including the reason why, on the day or the day before. This helps make sure we know where our students are and offer support for you and your family if needed.
If you are having trouble getting your child to school every day or on time, please talk to our school staff so we can work together, because every day counts.
Missing a day here or there may not seem like much, but absences add up and can negatively impact your child’s learning and wellbeing. When your child misses one day a week that’s 40 days of school and 8 weeks of learning in one year. Over an entire school journey this adds up to 2.5 years of lost learning.
While COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses are around especially during the winter months, schools will continue to use COVID-smart measures to minimise the risk of transmission.
If your child is unwell they will need to stay home, get tested for COVID-19 if they are experiencing symptomsExternal link and only return to school when symptom free.
Please contact the school if your child needs to miss school for any reason, so we can plan continued support for your child’s learning and wellbeing.
