Week 5 Term 1 Newsletter 2024
Principal's Message
Thank you to all the parents and carers who attended our first assembly last Friday. Our leaders did a wonderful job setting up and running assembly. Congratulations to all our recipients who received their house captain and SRC badges, I’m sure you will wear them with pride and do our school proud.
Where has the term gone? We are almost halfway through the Term 1. Good luck to all our swimmers who are competing at the district carnival in Grenfell on Friday. There are 28 swimmers representing our school and I’m sure there will be lots of PBs and our swimmers will shine through with all the hard work they have been putting in over the summer months. Thanks again to Miss Dixon for getting the team organised and to Mrs Swords for helping on the day.
I’m pleased to announce that our school has been invited to participate in The Resilience Project which is an evidenced based programmed developed to teach students, staff and parents about positive mental health strategies. Staff participated in Professional Learning yesterday afternoon and the lessons will begin this week with every class. Additional information for parents and TRG@HOME can be found in the newsletter and an email will be sent to all parents. We are looking forward to being part of this Wellbeing journey.
A friendly reminder about pick up at the end of the day at Belmore St gate. Please avoid parking in the church yard and along Lola St. All parking needs to be on Belmore St or Charlotte St. This will help maintain the visibility and safety of all our students and ensures you don’t get a hefty $400 parking fine.
Next Sunday our school leaders are embarking on their annual trip to Sydney for the Young Leaders Conference. This is always a wonderful experience. This year Miss Pritchard and Hue Greenhill (parent) will be accompanying the group. Miss Pritchard has some great sightseeing activities planned on Sunday and then the group will be attending the conference on Monday. We look forward to hearing all about it.
All major school events have now been entered into the Schoolzine calendar attached to the newsletter platform. Please note, that some of these can change due to unforeseen circumstances.
Have a great week!
Kind regards,
Sharon Hawker

Attendance Matters
Must have missed that day?
Time with friends, assignments, an important math lesson or getting picked for a sports team – we don’t want any one of our students missing out. Days missed here and there add up.
With regular school attendance your child will have the best opportunity to learn and improve their wellbeing. We are here to support your child to be ready and engaged for school. Please contact us if you need any assistance with your child’s attendance.
Visit the Every Day Matters webpage for more information and resources.
A reminder that planned travel should only be taken during school holidays and students should be at school every day during school term, right from beginning to end.
Missing a day here or there may not seem like much, but absences add up. Every day matters and we are here to support all students in attending and engaging with their learning every day of the term.
